FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I bring to camp?

Volleyball shoes, t-shirts, shorts/spandex, socks and knee pads. For residents, the dorm provides towels, linens and soap. The gym gets hot so you might go through more than 1 shirt per session. The dorms are air conditioned and provide bed linens, blankets and pillows. You may bring extra food, but dorm rooms do not have refrigerators. You may want to bring money for snacks at night. We will also be selling Cyclone t-shirts, shorts and sweatshirts.

What if I can only attend part of a camp?

If you can only come for part of a camp we would still love to have you. Contact Jesse Klein 515-294-9465 jklein@iastate.edu to check to see what the pro-rated rate would be. We would only pro-rate it if you were to miss 2 or more sessions.

What is the player to coach ratio?

We will guarantee a 10:1 ratio. Almost all courts will have 12-14 campers per court with 2 court coaches.

What is your refund policy?

Up to seven days before the camp you registered for begins, you may receive 90% refund (10% administrative charge) in the event of illness, injury, or family emergency.

From six to one day before the camp you registered for begins, you may receive 50% refund (50% administrative charges) in the event of illness, injury, or family emergency.

Once the first day of the camp you registered for begins, there is no refund in the event of illness, injury, or family emergency.

Team camp registrations may not be refundable.

Are there any camp discounts?

10 or more campers registering together will receive a 10% discount. To receive this discount, you MUST print off a registration and mail all registrations in together.

The 2nd camper from the same family (same address), or the 2nd camp for one camper, will receive a 25% discount. To receive this discount, you MUST print off a registration and mail both registrations in together. 25% discount will apply to the camp of lesser value.

Junior Cyclone Club members receive a $15 discount to any one camp. To receive this discount, you MUST print off a registration and mail it in.

Discounts may not be combined. Only one discount per camp per camper.

What is the difference between a resident and a commuter?

Residents stay in the dorms at night and eat all of their meals at camp. Commuters go home at night and only eat lunch and dinner at camp - they eat breakfast at home.

Are parents allowed to come and watch?

Our camps are always open for parents to come and watch. There is some room on the baseline of each court for parents to watch - bring your own chair!

Where should we park?

Parking is available in Lot 63, which is right by the dorms and about a block away from the Lied Rec Center and the Forker Building. The Forker Building parking lot is Lot 50A and is free after 5:30 p.m. and on weekends. Lot 100 is next to the Lied Rec Center and is a pay lot. Be sure to check lot signs for parking restrictions.

Will there be a trainer on-hand?

There will be a first aid provider at all of the sites for all of the sessions. There will also be a first aid provider in the residence halls.
